A classic bifold wallet
Start from the built-in sample, see how it is put together, and change it to suit your cards.
1. Open the sample
In the app choose Samples > Wallets and card holders > Classic bifold, 3 cards a side. It draws a fresh design: an outside, a lining and three stepped pockets on each side. The other bifolds in the same menu (compact, two cards a side, and full, five a side) work the same way.
2. Read the pattern
In the Pattern view each piece is laid out flat, with its stitch holes. The Parts list names them: the outside, the lining, and the left and right pockets in three steps, each a little shorter than the one behind it so every card shows.
3. See it assembled
Switch to Assembly. The pockets sit on the lining, which sits in the outside. The fold line down the middle is the spine. Turn on the 3D view and drag Open / Closed to fold the wallet shut. Use Together / Exploded to check that each pocket sits on the right layer.
4. Make it yours
- Thickness and leather: select a part and choose its leather and thickness. The 3D stack and the fold follow the real thickness.
- Sizes: in Assembly, select a part and change its width or height in the bar. The pattern is stretched to match, with stitch holes and corners kept the right size.
- Edges: with a part selected, use the Edger in the same bar to round its edges in the 3D view, on the top, bottom or both faces.
- Hardware: add a snap or rivet with the Hardware tool.
5. Check the stitching
Use Detect seams in the side panel to list what is sewn to what, and check that the thread length it works out is what you expect.
6. Cut it
Export SVG or DXF for a laser or cutter, or print the tiled PDF at true size for paper templates. Check the first print against a ruler before cutting leather.
